Beyond the Briar

Zoology has been an avid hobby of mine since I was a young girl, and, in all my years of amateur studies, there is always more to learn. So, prepare yourself for some of the strangest animals, perhaps some of the ugliest, and some animals you'll point to and say, "I know that one!" I hope you enjoy, and I hope you pass along the word. -Bethany Briar

Since I don’t think a dragonfish will be adequate enough for today, this is an even stranger fish - The Warty Frogfish. As you can see, it looks nothing like a frog OR a fish, but it does look like an underwater bit of coral. They are said to inhabit the West Pacific. This fish lives in shallow waters, only a few yards down. Keep an eye out for this interesting fish! If you see a piece of moving coral devouring tiny fish, then you have yourself a Warty Frogfish!
